Some versions of the Viva la Vida lyrics on the net say 'Once you go there was never, never an honest word', and other versions say 'Once you'd gone it was never, never an honest word.'
'Once you go' doesn't make sense, and I haven't had a chance to listen to the whole song recently, so I don't know what it sounds like to me. 'Once you'd gone' makes more sense. He lost someone and he saw that person as the only person who spoke to him with honest words, or someone who made him be honest himself.
